Getting Started

The Early Church Journal is a sunrise-to-sunset companion rooted in Acts 2:42 — "they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer." The beauty of this journal is in recording: every entry you save builds a rhythm, every rhythm becomes a daily discipline, and every discipline shapes your walk with the Lord. Track your prayers, fasting hours, prayer-walk steps, praise moments, Selah pauses, and Amen seals — and watch your devotion take shape over time. Everything is freely accessible to read. To record entries and store your data, create a free account.

Begin each morning on the home page. Set your daily intention, read the scripture of the day, and offer a moment of praise.

Walk the hours in the hourly journal. Choose a priority and rhythm for each hour, and record your reflection and prayer.

Close the day by reviewing your weekly summary. See which rhythms you walked and offer the day back to the Lord.

Every Feature

A walkthrough of each page in the journal — what it does, how to use it, and a few tips to help you get the most from each rhythm.

  • Use the date navigator to revisit any past day's entry.

  • Select a priority and rhythm for each hour to stay anchored in the daily walk.
  • Save your entry — it persists to your journal history automatically.
  • Mark an hour as completed to track your daily rhythm.

Fellowship Prayer Board

  • Post a prayer request with a name and a short word.
  • Mark a prayer as answered to celebrate God's faithfulness together.
  • Share the board with a prayer partner using the Invite page.

Prayer Walk

  • Log your steps and distance after each walk.
  • Record a prayer focus for each walk.
  • Mark the walk as completed to add it to your weekly summary.

  • Songs are curated by the journal team — no setup needed.
  • The song of the day appears on the home page each morning.

Table Graces

  • A new grace appears each day on a rotating cycle.
  • Use the share button to send a grace to someone at your table.

Sacred Space

  • Select a sacred rhythm to commit to.
  • Mark each day you keep your commitment.
  • Your streak builds as a quiet encouragement, not a burden.

Fasting

Open →

Offer a fast to the Lord. Select the number of hours, record a word of intention, and let the fast become a sacrifice of praise. Your fasting hours are gathered into the weekly summary so you can see the offering of your days.

  • Tap the flame emblem to record a fast.
  • Choose your hours and add a short intention if you wish.
  • Today's total fasting hours display beneath the emblem.

Selah Pause

A meditation pause woven into the day. The Selah emblem invites you to stop, breathe, and rest in the presence of God for a single quiet moment. Each Selah is recorded as a gentle marker of stillness on your daily walk.

  • Tap the Selah emblem whenever you need a pause.
  • Add a short word of meditation if the Spirit gives you one.
  • Selah moments appear in your daily rhythm count.

Amen Seal

Seal a prayer or moment with an Amen — a spoken 'so be it.' The Amen emblem lets you close a moment of prayer with faith, trusting that God hears. Each Amen is a small act of trust recorded on your daily walk.

  • Tap the Amen emblem to seal a prayer or moment.
  • Add a short note of what the Amen sealed.
  • Amen moments are counted in your daily rhythm.

Record a sermon with your voice and let the journal transcribe it for you. AI summarization draws out key points, scripture references, and reflection prompts — as a supplement to your own listening, never a replacement for personal reflection.

  • Press record to capture the sermon audio.
  • The transcript and summary appear after processing.
  • Add your own reflection prompts to keep the word working in you.

Wonders & Fruits

  • Mark a wonder as answered when God moves.
  • Record both 'seen' and 'believing' testimonies.
  • Your testimony becomes an encouragement to yourself and others.

Teaching

Open →

A dedicated space for scripture reading and meditation. Sit with the word of God, let it dwell in you richly, and carry a verse into your day. The Teaching page gathers the weekly teaching, reading plans, and a library of resources to deepen your walk in the apostles' teaching.

  • A fresh weekly teaching and devotion appears each Monday.
  • Open any reading plan to follow a 7-day scripture journey.
  • Browse the library of books, sermons, and teachings for further study.
